ankara update

In their latest adventure, Ann and Karen spent a day in the Burbank based studio for a taping of the Carol Duvall Show. The cable program on Home and Garden Television (HGTV) hosted by arts and crafts expert Carol Duvall features artists demonstrating the latest in craft supplies and techniques. Karen presented a step by step approach to making a decorative mosaic box using liquid Sculpey. The sisters were joined in the studio by Tamara Snyder, Karen's former college roommate, who flew in from Arkansas to witness the exciting day on the set. The mosaic episode is tentatively scheduled to air Tuesday, February 22 at 11:00 am Pacific time and re-air on Saturday, February 26 at 11:30 am Pacific time on HGTV. Please check the program guide at HGTV. com to confirm the air date of episode #813.

Ann and Karen' s first craft publication article entitled "Liquid Sculpey Mosaics" can be seen in the February 2000 issue of Jewelry Crafts magazine. The same issue also contains a detailed project description for creating a mosaic heart pin. The article and project highlight some of the new possibilities in polymer clay design with liquid Sculpey. Ann's husband, Ai Buangsuwon, took the photographs for the article.

Original mixed media AnKara Designs accessories are featured in Esther Anderson's articles "Metal Effects on Polymer Clay" (February 2000) and " A Complete Guide to Gold Plating" (December 1999) in Jewelry Crafts magazine. Esther was recently made contributing editor for the magazine, and continues to write informative articles about precious metal and polymer clays, as well as jewelry construction tips.

As of May 1, 2000, AnKara Designs is pleased to announce their new location and expanded studio space. The address will be 2323 Pinecrest Dr., Altadena 91001. The phone number will remain the same at (626) 798-8491.

it's an illusion
Illusion, microfilament, and floating necklaces are all terms used to describe the latest look in delicate, feminine neck wear. Crystal drops on a single strand or pearl and glass beads sprinkled on single or multiple strands give the appearance of jewels suspended in air. AnKara Designs offers a variety of styles and colors in this fun look, and can create custom necklaces and lengths upon request. Illusions are currently a popular choice for brides and bridesmaids.

Beaded bracelets stacked in multiples provide a simple update for day or evening outfits. Sparkle and variety are the key elements to wearing these up to the minute wrist decorations.

Hair accessories continue to have an impact in spring. Ann and Karen make a large assortment of styles for different hair types and textures, including French barrettes, bobby pins, and headbands.
